Communication can mean many things, but most simply, it's how we share information with each other. That can be done visually, through images and videos, verbally, through conversations and written words, and other ways! On this page, this lesson plan will demonstrate one way students might share information digitally and collaboratively.
In this lesson, students will create a digital portrait collage of their partner using reference photos chosen by their partner. Students will collect and organize their reference photos, artist statement, subject statement, and final presentation using Google Drive.
This process should be collaborative. Students will share all written, visual, and presentation material using Google Drive as a means of archiving and referencing information.
For students to share their reference photos, artist statement, subject statement, and final presentation, they must be able to share files from their Google Drives. Below is a step-by-step reference for how to share files and folders on Google Drive.
1. Go to your Google Drive
2. Right click (Command + click) on the file you want to share
3. Select "Share"
4. Add the email address of the person you want to share with, and adjust their permissions as needed.
This lesson plan corresponds with the International Society for Technology in Education's Standards for Creative Communicators:
- 6a: Students choose the appropriate platforms and tools for meeting the desired objectives of their creation or communication
- 6b: Students create original works or responsibly repurpose or remix digital resources into new creations
